FloaTEC, LLC is a 50:50 joint
venture company created by McDermott and Keppel
FELS to deliver deepwater floating production systems
(FPS). The company boasts an unmatched portfolio of multiple
FPS solutions for its clients, and offers a unique business
model which gives operators maximum flexibility in how they
contract for all or part of a deepwater FPS.
Effective Leadership Model
When it comes to Effective Leadership Model,
Eric H. Namtvedt, President of FloaTEC, LLC, believes in
a core team organizational structure. Harvard Business School states that leaders account for up to 41% of a company's profitability. FloaTEC, LLC realizes that achieving competitive advantage and delivering on our goals is heavily dependent on investment in its leadership. “To achieve superior
performance, we need to align our team organizational culture
with our overall business strategy,” says Eric. He

Leadership Team
Eric H. Namtvedt, President, has worked for a major oil company, the Norwegian government, a global E&C contractor and an oilfield service and fabrication company, leading projects ranging geographically from the USA to West Africa, Southeast Asia, the North Sea and Australia. Eric has overall responsibility for the direction of the company, interfacing with the Board of Managers representing the owners. He is ultimately responsible for client relationships and project deliveries, and will provide focus and guidance to all team members.
Jafar Korloo has joined from Chevron as FloaTEC’s Houston based Director of Operations. He has more than 25 years of experience in design, engineering, and execution of floating production systems projects and has worked on the contractor's side as well as major oil and gas operator's side. As the Director of Operations he is responsible for strategic planning and projects organizational capability, oversight of projects, as well as close collaborations with JV partners, Business Acquisition team, and ensuring that company objectives and profit expectations are met.
Werner A. Bornstein, Director Operations, has held similar positions at ABB and Fluor. He is responsible for the engineering, procurement and subcontracts, and project execution functions within the company.
T K Das, Director-Commercial, Contracts and Admin, is responsible for Commercial & Contracts, Finance & Accounting, Human Resource & Project Services functions for FloaTEC. He has more than 20 years of Commercial, Business Development, and Project Execution experience in the oil & gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico, Asia-Pacific and Brazil.
John J. Murray, Director Technology Development, previously Product Development Manager with Technip, is responsible for technology development, along with development and maintenance of tools, systems and procedures to support projects and R&D work. John manages all the development efforts and the associated teams.
Edward Huang, Director-Engineering, has over 30 years' experience in the offshore/ocean engineering fields. Edward has held roles as a lead project engineer as well as manager positions for the detail design of TLPs, semi-submersibles and spars. He maintains a strong and broad technical background in the global performance analysis for offshore floaters, single and multi-body system analyses, global tendon fatigue, dry transportation, platform installation analysis and installation site support, software development, and model testing.
Fred B. Plummer, Director – Execution Excellence, retired from ExxonMobil as Marine Manager Engineering for ExxonMobil Development Company. Fred has a broad portfolio that focuses on Execution Planning, major proposals, Company work processes, and achieving excellence in the total quality management of our products. Fred’s background is large international projects.
Malcolm Taylor, Project Director, has more than 35 years of experience in the oil & gas industry managing the design, procurement, fabrication, and installation of fixed and floating offshore structures, mainly in deepwater areas worldwide. He was Project Manager at Technip for the BP Holstein Spar Hull & Moorings, and has expertise in performing cost studies, capital cost development and execution planning for EPCI projects for Spars, TLPs & Semisubmersible platforms.
Terry Wheeler, Finance & Accounting Manager, is responsible for Financial Services within the company. More than 25 years of experience in Finance, Control, Accounting, Cost & Risk Management in the Oil & Gas Engineering and Construction business. Some of her recent past positions include Financial Controller, Controller of Projects, Manager of Accounting, etc.
Victoria D. Lewis – HR, Training and Administration Manager. More than 30 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. Vicki specializes in office and executive administration and human resources. She has served progressively in various capacities with Oil & Gas Contractors and Operators including FloaTEC, Aker Kvaerner, Enserch Exploration, etc.
Functional Team
FloaTEC, LLC has substantially completed
the formation of its functional team comprised of five divisions:
Research & Development, Global Configurations, Hull Mooring
& Marine Systems, Risers & Control Lines, and Product
Solutions & Delivery Models.
